The former Inspector General of Police, Gen Kale Kayihura has this morning handed over office to his successor, Martin Okoth-Ochola.

“Forgive me if there is any I stepped on during my tenure , all I meant was for the good of our country , I didn’t have any personal problem with any of you,” Gen. Kale Kayihura said in his handover speech  at Police Headquarters in Naguru, Kampala.

He added: “Irrespective of the bad image, am happy to be handing over a much better police force.”

Mr Ochola is Kayihura’s former deputy and will now be deputized by Brig. Sabiiti Muzeeyi, who was part of the military police before his new posting.

“I pray that you continue giving us guidance,” Ochola asked Gen. Kayihura.

Kayihura is expected to report back to army headquarters in Mbuya for redeployment. With two years to his retirement, he is still entitled to the salary and allowances of an army general, an official car, escort car and guards.
